As an actor I sign on for a project because I want to defend the character and defend the movie and I want to do the best I can. I put a lot pressure on myself.
Everything you’ve heard… about monsters, about nightmares, legends whispered around campfires. All the stories are true.
“Music for me is a vital part of my life. Without singing I think I’d probably lose my mind, like genuinely. I have to sing in the mornings in the shower because if I don’t sing in the morning I feel like something is caged up inside of me.”
It’s amazing to be in the same sentence and category as young women like that because I love Jennifer, and I think Shailene is extremely talented, and even with Kristen (Stewart), even though the (“Twilight) series is finished now. There are so many types of young women heroines in everyday life, I think there’s room for everyone, we all bring something different to the table … There’s a comedic undertone to our stories that is absent in the other ones I think, and Clary is part of that sassiness and part of that comedy. She is on a quest to save her mom and she doesn’t let love define her, she’s not victimized. She’s a fighter, but she’s normal too.
“I don’t speculate too much about the future. That’s the thing about this job – it’s so fickle. You take the jobs, you read the scripts and, if something interests you and you like the people who are working on it, you go for it. If not, you take a break. I could be back in Ireland, Britain or America afterwards. It’s so variable but very exciting.”
My advice for girls who are waiting for their Prince Charming is to be open for anything. Be open to new experiences, be open to the idea that it may take longer than you want, but if you’re open to meeting new people and new adventures, then love will come along. - Lily Collins
